What makes motorcycle glasses different from regular prescription glasses?
Motorcycle glasses are designed to provide enhanced protection from wind, dust, and debris while offering superior clarity, contrast, and comfort for riders. They often feature wraparound frames for a better fit and more secure coverage. Most of the Wiley-X and 7 Eye Glasses come with a removable foam Facial Cavity Seal that blocks out dust and dirt getting into your eyes.
Can I get polarized lenses for my prescription motorcycle glasses?
Yes, Polarized lenses are a popular option for motorcycle glasses because they reduce glare from the road, water, and other reflective surfaces, improving your visibility and safety while riding.
Are motorcycle glasses impact-resistant?
Yes, Goggleman prescription motorcycle glasses come with impact-resistant lenses, providing extra protection in case of sudden impacts or accidents, which is crucial for rider safety.
Can I wear progressive lenses in my motorcycle glasses?
Yes, Goggleman offers Single Vision and progressive lenses that can be added to prescription motorcycle glasses, allowing you to have clear vision at both distance (for seeing the road ahead) and near (for reading your GPS or instruments).
I ride in wet/humid conditions. What sort of lenses do you recommend?
Goggleman Anti-Fog lenses are ideal for all conditions, including wet/humid environments or where there are changes in temperature. Goggleman Anti-Fog lenses are virtually fog-free and come with an anti-reflection coating to give the crispest vision and reduce unwanted reflections.
What lens colors are best for motorcycle riding?
- Gray lenses: Ideal for bright sunlight, reducing glare while maintaining natural color balance.
- Yellow/Amber lenses: Improve contrast and visibility in low-light or cloudy conditions, ideal for early morning or evening rides.
- Blue/Orange lenses: Enhance depth perception and reduce glare, helping in varying lighting conditions, especially on overcast days.
If I come off my bike or vehicle, will my lenses break?
Goggleman provides the option of Polycarbonate lenses at the time of order, which are a safety-grade lens with very high impact resistance. Basically these lenses will stay intact even if your goggles crumble.
I ride during the day and night with an open-face helmet. What sort of lenses do you recommend?
Transition Lenses provide full UV protection. They darken during the day with sunlight activation(UV) and then lighten at night. In an open-face helmet they provide a good option for glare reduction at different times of the day, even in cloudy conditions.
Can I wear motorcycle glasses with a full face helmet?
You can wear prescription motorcycle glasses with most full-face helmets, although we recommend checking your helmet’s fit and comfort with the glasses.
Are prescription motorcycle glasses suitable for night riding?
Yes, prescription motorcycle glasses with the right lens tint (such as yellow or clear lenses) can help improve visibility at night by enhancing contrast and reducing glare from headlights, making it easier to see the road and other vehicles.
I want to use my bike glasses when I go fishing. Can I use them for this?
Yes, prescription polarised lenses in your motorbike goggles provide great clarity and glare reduction for fishing as well as riding. However for riding, they are best used without the helmet visor, as the visors are often polarised leading to a blurred and patchy vision interference.
How should I care for my prescription motorcycle glasses?
To keep your motorcycle glasses in good condition, clean them with a microfiber cloth and lens cleaner. Always store them in a hard case to prevent scratches, and avoid using abrasive materials that could damage the lenses.
